Why are 9 year olds only attending one evening a week?
As the cadets are younger we feel it is better that they only attend one evening a week.
Why are 9 year olds finishing earlier?
This is a requirement laid down by Sea Cadet Headquarters because of the cadet's age.
When can they start attending both parade night?
As soon as they turn 10 years old.
How will subs work for 9 year olds that are only attending 1 evening a week?
For 9 year olds, subs of £8 a month will be paid by direct debit. Once the cadet turns 10 this will become £15 per month and the cadets will be able to attend both parade nights.
Will 9 year olds be able to take part in all of the same courses, events and competitions as the older cadets?
Yes — all Junior Sea Cadets can take part in the same coures, event and competitions, irrespective of their age.
With the earlier finish, what do I do if I have another, older cadet, at the unit utill 2100?
If this is the case please let us know and we can make suitable arrangements. Unless something is arrangeed prior, 9 year old cadets must be collected at 2030.
